Yes. In 1981 ENLL went to the Little League World Series.
T-ball is geared for kids ages 4-6 years old, however if a player is 3 and turning 4 during the year they may also join.
Coaches are all parents, siblings, family, or friends interested in volunteering and helping make a good experience for the children. We offer assistance and training for new coaches that would like it. Umpires are parents, siblings, family, or friends interested in volunteering in a vital way as well! We offer assistance and training for umpires throughout the year and hold clinics every season.
Try-outs are held prior to the season starting in order for managers/coaches to view players and evaluate who they might like on their team. This enables a draft to take place so that teams can be selected in a fair and balanced method. All players will make it on a team.
Typically each team will have 1 practice per week and play 2 games per week, this does vary somewhat depending on the number of teams. Games are usually Saturdays in the morning or early afternoon, and another game during a week night which are played 6:00 /6:30. Practices are scheduled by the manager/coach when it is best suited for the team. Unless there is a special event or tournament, games are generally not played on Sundays.
Kids should definitely bring a fielding glove (how to fit a glove) and some water! Items that are recommended: Baseball/Softball cleats, a bat (how to choose a bat), and batting helmet.
We do accept registrations online and in person. Registration for Fall ball is usually during August, while registration for Spring ball is during January. All Players will need to provide proof of residence, provide proof of school registration in Escondido, and have a birth certificate.
The league registration fee covers each players uniform, little league insurance, field & game equipment, lighting costs, trash pickup, as well as other operating costs. The league is a non-profit organization run entirely by volunteers. If you cannot afford the fee we do everything possible to assist. We can work with flexible payment plans or even partial to full scholarships.
The fall season is typically between September and November and is geared more toward instruction. During the fall season Escondido National Little League offers team baseball in various divisions, and clinics for softball and baseball. The spring season is typically the end of February through May and offers more competitive play for the upper divisions, leading to All-Stars selection.
Little league exempts players who miss regular season games in order to play for their school. This allows players playing school ball to also play little league and still be eligible for all stars.
If there is any questions, concerns, or complaints regarding a child's team or coach please get in touch with the division VP and/or the Player Agent. It is their job to ensure players are treated as fairly and in the spirit of little league. Issues can and will be discussed with the Board of directors and action may be taken if needed.
